Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan might be arch rivals but seems like when it comes to the country’s prestige they can overlook their differences. At least that’s what it seems with the buzz that the two top stars of Bollywood will come together to play cricket as players of the Indian cricket team at the soon to happen IIFA Awards.

Every year IIFA has a friendly match between two countries, the proceedings of which go to charitable institutions. Even this year IIFA is having a friendly cricket match between Indians and the Sri Lankan cricket team. Interestingly there seems to be more enmity within the team with the two mighty Khans who can’t see eye to eye teaming up together.

Just imagine how the scene would be when one of the Khans is batting and the other is runner at the opposite side.

Madhur Bhandarkar experiments with genres is on , he finds that he needs three funny men for his next, Dil to Bachcha Hai Ji . Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi and Omi Vaidya have signed up to deliver a stand-up performance. While the female cast is yet to be finalised, Kumar Mangat who is co-producing the film with Bhandarkar confirmed the news and said, “We shall have three heroines in this film. We should be ready with their names in the next ten days.”

He explains the casting. “Madhur and I had decided to make a film together two years ago. Only recently, we felt that we had the right script which would do justice to a romantic comedy. Madhur and his team wrote the script with Ajay and Emraan in mind. We were very impressed by Omi’s acting in 3 Idiots and we loved his character Chatur Ramalingam, that’s how he came on board,” added Mangat. Bhandarkar said, “We start shooting Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji by the end of June and shall be ready with it in September.”

Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori starrer Kites grossed over Rs.21 crore on its opening day and has become the second highest opening-day grosser after 3 Idiots, its distributor said Saturday.

The film that has been distributed by Reliance BIG Pictures is a love story between an Indian guy and a Spanish girl. Directed by Anurag Basu, the film has been produced by Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan.

NEW DELHI: Hrithik Roshan’s Kites, one of the biggest releases of this summer, opened to mixed reviews on Friday but the movie’s huge buildup is expected to power it to nearly 90% occupancy levels during the crucial first weekend. Kites, which also stars Mexican actress Barbara Mori as Hrithik’s love interest, managed to draw crowds on the first day. But it remains to be seen how the movie fares in the box office and recovers its Rs 60-crore costs because critics have panned the weak storyline, said a trade analyst on condition of anonymity.

Kites, directed by Anurag Basu, has been released across 2,500 screens worldwide. Filmkraft, a company owned by Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan, produced the movie. Anil Ambani’s ADAG offshoot Reliance Big Pictures acquired the global distribution rights of Kites for reportedly Rs 150 crore.

Hrithik’s fans have been eagerly awaiting Kites as the movie is his first big release in more than a year. The movie has long been publicising the ‘sizzling’ chemistry between the protagonists who play the roles of a mercenary couple.
But Kites has drawn flak for a floundering plot and predictable turns. Critics have blasted even the movie’s selling point, the romance between the lead pair.

The movie’s fate in the next three days at least is safe thanks to the rush from movie buffs and bulk bookings by corporates for employees. “Corporate bookings for Kites have been very good for the first weekend,” said Gautam Dutta, CEO of PVR Cinemedia , a division of multiplex company PVR Ltd.

According to recent reports, Shah Rukh had sent a text message to Akshay congratulating him for his performance in a recent movie. Reportedly, Shah Rukh was so impressed with Akshay’s performance that he even sent him an expensive watch. Akshay apparently decided to give back  Shah Rukh and sent him a far more expensive watch in return.

“Shah Rukh has not received any watch from any of his Bollywood colleagues. We don’t know how Akshay or whoever in his place is claiming this sudden exchange of gifts. But Shah Rukh is in Delhi at the moment and neither he nor Gauri has received any gift packet from Akshay,” says a staff member from Shah Rukh’s team.

According to the Bollywood star, Aamir Khan, teachers should be paid higher as they teach children and build up a better life and future of the child.

“For me as a part of society, we give maximum value to the teachers, which mean the teaching jobs should be the highest paying. So after getting an education of higher level, a student should feel that his first choice should be to be a teacher because they will feel much more respected, will have a better pay scale, a better life,” he said.

Aamir’s two continuous blockbusters ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘3 Idiots’ made people think about updating the education system. Aamir said that the betterment of the society can only be done through good and quality education system.

This political drama is apparently based on “First family of Indian politics” The Gandhi family.
The problem was pointed with latest trailer being showcased, where the actors have casual body language and bored looks on their faces. Though Arjun Rampal and Ajay Devgan were respected for their ethics while singing our national Anthem. Many have felt that the actors should have got rid of the bored looks on their face, while shooting such a vital part of the film.
Earlier the controversy ridden film was garnering positive press for Katrina’s skill to master fluent Hindi in just 20 days. With such a balance of both positive and negative press attention, the film is bound to attract lot of viewers, because in tinsel town there is no such thing as good or bad publicity.

Sharukh will perform in the IIFA event 2010 declining the reports that srk will not attend the film festival due his cold relationship with IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan, the organizers of the event clarified that Shahrukh would perform at the event. The event will also witness Indian celebrities like Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi perform. It is said that the award function would be hosted by Boman Irani, Riteish Deshmukh and Lara Dutta.Srk arch rival Salman khan will also perform at the IIFA which will be held from June 3-5.
